Things To Do

There are many popular places in Riverhead some of these are:

Long Island Aquarium
It is the only aquarium in Long Island that hosts sea lion shows, African penguins, marmosets, numerous touch tanks and more than 100 different exhibitions throughout the year – plus there are many other things that attract tourist such as Feed the shark and turtles from the cage, snorkleĀ in a staged pirate wreck site or get your feet wet in their interactive salt marsh. Then step through large glass doors to feed more than 40 exotic parrots. Here you can also enjoy your picnic by riding on a 110-foot-high Discovery Tower, which offers an unforgettable experience to its riders.

Railroad Museum of Long Island
The Long Island Railway Museum is a museum located on the North Shore of Long Island. It has a collection of railway goods, art, paper, photographs, toy trains and historic buildings. There are two locations in the Railroad Museum on Long Island, one in Riverhead (where visitors can find rolling stock restored during the display), and a satellite in Greenport (the original, but artificially restored, pass through the Turntable, other engine-related models are on display here)
